These are films that I’m interested in watching in the future.
Swing Girls (2004): I want to watch this film because it’s a fun, chaotic story about kids who are brought together through music. It seems like an entertaining watch that doesn’t take on serious tones. I think it’s perfect if I watch this on a bright, sunny day.
Precious (2009): This movie explores themes of neglect and abuse, while also highlighting the resilience of its characters. I want to see how the character overcomes all the challenges she faces. The movie was also Oscar-nominated for several awards.
Kamikaze Girls (2004): Opposites attract? I’m all for tropes like this, relationship and friendship-wise. I love it when characters form a bond that at first seemed unlikely, but then they grow to have a flourishing connection.
One Million Yen Girl (2008): I’m very intrigued by how the main character begins anew and abandons her previous life, as it’s something I’ve often contemplated in my own life, though not as dramatically.
Bridesmaids (2011): Such a comedic classic. Everyone considers this a funny movie, so I definitely need to watch it. I think this would be a good road trip or airplane movie.
Trainspotting (1996): I’m interested in the comedic aspects of this film while exploring serious themes of addiction, and why it’s considered uncomfortable but still so iconic.
Persona (1966): Ingmar Bergman is a director I’ve heard about for a long time, and this would be a good starting point for learning more about the director’s techniques.
Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989): Hayao Miyazaki movie? Sign me up!
Perfect Blue (1997): The movie Black Swan was inspired by this movie; it blurred reality and imagination in such a beautiful way, I want to see what aspects of Perfect Blue inspired it.
